- The Guide Light Frame™ is a rigid yet dynamic frame system that moves with you. With lightweight carbon fiber stays that flex with your body to comfortably carry heavy loads, it also features heavy-duty compression straps and load lifters to stabilize the load. It also features a Redirect waist belt system that secures in a natural, forward pull direction that requires less effort to tighten and with patented features and construction methods, the waist belt cants and conforms over the hips to effectively transfer and distribute the weight eliminating slippage down over the hips.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Transparency406 from Very light frame.Great frame but if you buy the frame itself and then purchase a bag to put on said frame separately, make sure you verify the compression strap buckles are compatible, Mystery Ranch does not mention this, and while they have amazing “self-locking” buckles not all their bags come set up for the “Guide Light Frame” buckle style, you will be required to pay $26.00 to order their “back to the future” buckle package, which is also not on their website so you will have to call and order it or explain to them how your new frame and bag that is supposed to mount to said frame is not compatible because of buckles.

Not sure why a company would do that other than to make you buy all new accessories when you switch frames. The real burn is I can't find any hauler accessories for this thing. Wasted $50 bucks on the back strap to turn the frame into a dedicated tree stand hauler. Now I have to rig some other junk together or replace the buckles to make it work. Shameful
Rated 5 out of 5 by Scott from Durable and comfortable fit.I purchased this frame for two reasons. One, Mystery Ranch is well known for the comfort and durability of their products. And two, the ability to choose a size that fits be specifically in lieu of being forced to adapt to a pre determined size. I decided to attach this frame to the Marine Corps FILBE pack and use it for field operations. Field ops are often long and arduous. More often than not after market gear won’t hold up to the roughness of the ops. Mystery Ranch has proven to be the exception to this and this frame not only held up but provided immense comfort and support during its use. I would highly recommend this frame to anyone looking for a frame that can take a good beating as well as give you the support to continue to push on with your day.

It is my first 'quality' set up and the difference from my old frame is night and day. While on an extended backcountry hunt in BC the frame preformed flawlessly. The waist belt comfortably transfers the weight to your hips and does a great job at staying where you want it (no sliding down). The shoulder straps are also very adjustable and comfortable and the load lifters keep the weight off your sholders. After taking the time to make sure everything was set up optimally for me, I was able to carry out my camp and mule deer in one load! The hike was over 6 miles and my pack weighed over 100lb. During this time the frame held the weight very well and the pads on my back did a lot to help cushion the load. I would recommend the guide light frame to anyone who need a frame that is comfortable during the hike in with the potential for a huge load on the way out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Scott from One bag to rule them allSo far the frame has seen moderate use. It is paired with the Pintler pack. I have had the rig loaded with 30 pounds of gear and a 50 pound bag of sand in the load shelf. This is my training set up I use twice a week. It handles the weight really well. My only concern is with the belt pads. The pads have a plastic backing inside the covering to support the foam. It feels as if the plastic backing may wear through the covering. But that is yet to happen.

I use the frame and pack for multi-day hikes along the AT. It is not the lightest nor the coolest rig but I can easily carry 25 to 30 lbs all day.

It is hard to beat their comfort and adjustability, especially when you are loaded down! If you are on the fence about buying this frame, save your hesitation for a sketchy mountain trail and pull the trigger- you won't regret it. Just make sure that you buy the correct size for your torso, it will make the difference (have a friend measure you).

Its comfortable and ergonomic. We hope Mystery Ranch reconsiders ending this model.
